Breakfast | 9 am

Start your day early with a hearty breakfast to fuel the adventures ahead. In the mood for soul food? If visiting on the weekend, we recommend Lo-Lo’s Chicken and Waffles, which made D Magazine’s list of the best soul food in Dallas. For healthy options, try the family-owned Mango’s Breakfast Brunch; choose from omelets, French toast, wraps, and more, and say cheers to the day ahead with a mimosa.

Trail Walk | 10 am

It’s time to hit the trail. At Bob Jones Nature Center, you can enjoy a true hike, right here in Southlake. With over 700 acres of Cross Timbers habitat and 20 miles of hiking trails, you’re bound to see wildlife. Keep your eyes open for blue jays, deer, and wild turkeys.

Spa Treatment | 12 pm

Men and women alike will love Southlake’s myriad options to treat yourself. Soothe sore muscles with a quick massage or enjoy a quick mani-pedi. Men can get fresh cuts and shaves at The Boardroom Salon for Men, The Gent’s Place, or Tune Up. For full pampering, visit Corinthian Wellness Spa, a renowned destination for Dallasites and visitors alike. Here you’ll find top-notch facials, massages, med spa services, and more.

Late Lunch | 1:30 pm

After a morning of mindful choices, you deserve to indulge. Grab a burger at Hopdoddy or Shake Shack; for a taste of authentic Texan barbecue, head over to  Feedstore.

Shopping | 3 pm

There’s a reason DFW flocks to Southlake to shop. The city’s charming town square houses national chains and small boutiques alike, all in picturesque red brick buildings. Though this walkable square is our first choice for an afternoon stroll, Southlake has many other destinations for shopping. (Check out a full list here.)

Shop familiar stores like Anthropologie, J. Crew, and Lululemon, as well as smaller boutiques like Apricot Lane. Family-owned Southlake Jewelers is a must, too, for browsing baubles. Pick up the best sort of souvenir—cowboy boots—at Old Boot Factory; if you’re a sports fan, visit Fans United to shop a wide selection of Cowboys and Mavs gear.

Happy Hour | 5 pm

Have out-of-state visitors with you? Make sure to stop by Mi Cocina for a legendary Mambo Taxi. Then, head to Kirby’s Steakhouse to enjoy a glass of wine in a trendy jazz bar featuring live music on the weekends. Southwest-Inspired Redrock Canyon Grill also offers a fun “Social Hour,” featuring bites like a Texas stuffed poblano or fire-roasted queso, as well as several specialty cocktails.

Explore | 7 pm

Have a few minutes to spare? Take a walk to experience Southlake’s abundant public art. Whether you’re near Southlake Town Square or driving through one of the roundabouts, there’s likely a notable sculpture nearby. Check out the full list of public art here. Visiting Southlake in April? You’re in luck–the city’s acclaimed annual arts festival, Art in the Square, displays hundreds of local artists’ work.

Dinner | 8 pm

With dozens of delicious options, choosing your Southlake dinner destination will likely be your hardest decision. We recommend the elegant Delucca Gaucho Pizza and Wine. Sit back and relax in Delucca’s glamorous dining room with a glass of champagne. The Gaucho style restaurant has a fixed price and no menu—your waiter will stop by periodically to offer you slices of innovative, high-quality wood-fired pizzas: think Sopressata Salami, Candied Bacon and Hot Honey or Four Cheeses and Truffle. You’ll want to be sure you save room for dessert pizza!

Should you be in the mood for finer dining, try Truluck’s or Del Frisco’s Grille. These DFW staples are known for their exceptional service and exceptional steaks.

Dessert | 10 pm

Still have room for dessert? We’re impressed. Try Creamistry‘s liquid nitrogen ice cream, choose from an eclectic selection of popsicles at Steel City Pops, or try a Southlake staple, Milwaukee Joe’s.

Hotel | 10:30 pm

After a packed day, get some well-deserved rest. Hilton Southlake Town Square is a welcoming, European-inspired hotel, with luxuries to help you relax (like Crabtree & Evelyn products and Hilton Serenity beds). Another option: the CAMBRiA Southlake, a contemporary, amenity-packed hotel (including on-site dining and a fitness center). Either hotel will ensure you stay close to all Southlake has to offer, while enjoying a reprieve from bustling city life.

Breakfast | 9 am

End your Southlake staycation with a sweet finish. Cinnaholic offers gourmet cinnamon rolls with toppings ranging from fresh fruit to candy pieces; Peace, Love, and Little Donuts is another delicious choice.

Craving a bigger finale? Whistle Britches and Moxie’s, two DFW brunch favorites with locations across the metroplex, are coming soon to Southlake. In the meantime, try Another Broken Egg for a chef-inspired brunch.

Your staycation might be over, but Southlake is always just a short drive away. For more tips on planning your perfect visit to Southlake, check out their visitor’s guide.
