Your next staycation destination: The Westin Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas. This swanky hotel may be Dallas’ best-kept secret. You can’t beat the location–it’s just steps from Toyota Music Factory and the Las Colinas Entertainment District. The rooms themselves are incredible, high-end and stylish (especially the Presidential Suite–wait ‘til you see it). There’s a rooftop pool to enjoy craft cocktails and sweeping views of the area’s rolling hills and calm waters. The onsite restaurant is lively and vibrant; its modern Mexican offerings attract locals and visitors alike. And that’s just the beginning. Allow us to introduce you to the hotel that has it all.

Start Your Staycation

Let’s start with the basics–this hotel is cool. Each stylish space warrants a photo; as soon as you enter, for example, the living wall in the lobby will catch your eye. The rooms themselves are just as modern and luxe as you’d expect, and we have an insider tip to get an upgrade. With the Best Available Upgrade deal, you’ll get the star treatment for less. Westin will upgrade your stay when you book at Traditional King or Double Queen room. You could be kicking back in a Club Level Room with Westin Club Access, a spacious suite, or even the Presidential Suite.

Speaking of the Presidential Suite–get ready to see what is perhaps the most lavish hotel room in DFW. We’re talking major penthouse vibes: floor-to-ceiling windows, multiple decked-out rooms, and fun features like a pool table and a soaking tub. Our favorite detail? The signed pieces from every celeb that’s stayed there (i.e. Snoop Dogg).

For the full celeb experience in the Presidential Suite, you’re going to want to book the Sweet Dreams Package. To start, the hotel will welcome you with a premium bottle of bubbly. After a night out in the entertainment district, you’ll be treated to a complimentary late night bite. In the morning, you’ll be tempted to stay in the suite’s King Westin Heavenly Bed all day, but make sure to get up and nosh on the included breakfast for two at Mesa Mezcal. It’s easy to see why music industry elite often choose this package when they visit Dallas.

Explore Toyota Music Factory and Las Colinas Entertainment District

If you’ve never experienced Toyota Music Factory, you probably think of it as a state-of-the-art concert venue. You’re not wrong–but Toyota Music Factory is so much more. Premium restaurants and bars are around every corner. Grab a burger at Burgerim, a salad at Freshii, or a drink at Bar Louie or Yard House before you take in a show or concert.

You’ll also find an Alamo Drafthouse Cinema at Toyota Music Factory–this high-end movie theater boasts a full bar, expansive dining options, and reclining seats. Toyota Music Factory’s open-air Texas Lottery Plaza, which often hosts special events and outdoor concerts, is an ideal spot to sit and take in a sky full of Texas stars.

Feel like taking a longer walk? Along the banks of Lake Carolyn is Water Street, another buzzy area of the Las Colinas Entertainment District. This street is home to several beloved restaurants including a Neapolitan pizza destination, Olivella’s, and a liquid nitrogen ice cream shop, Creamistry. You can also easily stroll along the Mandalay Canals or stop by the must-see Mustangs of Las Colinas.

Dine at Mesa Mezcal

On-property restaurant Mesa Mezcal is an Irving destination in its own right. A far cry from a typical hotel buffet or café, this dining destination offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a high-end setting. Enjoy a modern Mexican feast in the indoor-outdoor space (patio dining, anyone?) or stop in for a quick hand-crafted cocktail. Mesa Mezcal is, of course, known for its mezcal, but you’ll also find beers on tap, an extensive wine list, and micheladas.

For breakfast, order a custom omelet, recharge with fresh juice, or choose a traditional dish like chilaquiles or huevos rancheros. Not sure what to order for lunch or dinner? We recommend the house-made Oaxaca mole or one of the standout salads (toppings include charred avocados and spicy pepitas). You also can’t go wrong with tacos.

Unwind at Vibe Pool Bar

Unwind with a craft cocktail at this rooftop pool bar, open Thursdays-Sundays. Take in the views and vibes of the lake and the bustling entertainment district below. During the summer, we recommend the Del Rio Daisy cocktail, a refreshing blend of tequila and St. Jermain accented with lime and a sprig of rosemary. You also can’t go wrong with a poolside margarita or mojito. Visiting during the winter? No problem. This midcentury-inspired space offers both indoor and outdoor seating, plus a swanky fire pit, to keep you toasty.

Work Out The Westin Way

Keep up your workout routine (or begin a new one) during your stay. The hotel has fitness options galore, including a sizeable modern gym where treadmills overlook the entertainment district below. Feeling ambitious? Take advantage of the hotel’s RunWestin Program–it’s almost like having a personal trainer. Group runs are hosted every Tuesday/Thursday at 6:30 AM for an easy way to squeeze in a top-notch workout or two during your staycation.
