Step into a living Christmas card during Farmers Branch’s holiday extravaganza, Christmas in the Branch. An action-packed 50 days of Christmas cheer will take place through January 17 with Skating Under the Stars, the annual Christmas Tree Lighting, a Holiday Marketplace, and more all in Farmers Branch.
The Dallas area, of course, isn’t known for its outdoor ice rinks…except this holiday season with Skating Under the Stars. Head to Farmers Branch to skate under the blanket of the Texas night sky at the Children’s Health StarCenter.The skating rink is open daily through January 17, except for Christmas and New Year’s Day. Officially kick off the season with friends and family—even the family dog–at the Farmers Branch annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Marketplace from 5 to 9 PM Saturday, December 7 at Liberty Plaza and The Grove. The lighting of the 75-foot-tall Christmas tree, led by Farmers Branch Mayor Robert C. Dye and Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will arrive by firetruck, will take place among Liberty Plaza’s twinkling lighted displays. There’s something for all ages as you stroll through Santa’s Village filled with unique holiday gift vendors, live entertainment from local schools and theater groups, and a variety of festival foods and concessions, including beer and wine. Reminisce with screenings of holiday classic movies Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966), and Frosty’s Winter Wonderland. You may even spot Elsa and Olaf from Frozen! Holiday Marketplace will be open for all of your holiday gift buying needs December 7, 14, and 21 at The Grove. Shop for unique gifts at three Holiday Marketplace venues, each featuring live entertainment, activities for children, and concessions.
