Plano and Frisco were developed as peaceful alternatives to Dallas with easy access to the city, but in recent years, these two suburbs have become destinations in their own right. They boast cultural offerings, innovative dining experiences, and sports teams, while still maintaining their relaxed, Texas charm. These five activities are just a few of the many ways to have a great summer in Frisco and Plano.

Geek Out:

Visiting the National Videogame Museum in Frisco is a thrill for kids, young and old. It features special exhibits on gaming history, information on the future of gaming, and workshops on techy topics.

Take a Dip:

Who doesn’t want to swim in a pool shaped like the state of Texas? This Plano landmark opened in 1961 and remains a popular destination in the area. The Historic Texas Pool is located on Springbrook Dr. and opens for the season on May 27th.

Rock On:

The highly-anticipated Legacy Hall has just opened and will present a steady stream of musicians through the summer at its Box Garden concert venue. The adjacent Food Hall offers plenty to snack on in between jams.

Meet the Farmers:

Stroll the farmers’ markets of the area and pick up local produce and crafts. Some of the best include the Willow Bend Farmers Market, the Downtown Plano Farmers Market, and the Frisco Rotary Farmers Market.

Be a Superfan:

Cheer on the FC Dallas soccer team or the RoughRiders baseball team, both located in Frisco.

Kim Swanner, Marketing Director for Britton Homes, explains that big business headquarters planted in the area have helped to spur a new wave of growth in Frisco and Plano, making these two cities desirable places to live. The rise in population has led to the creation of many of the above activities, as well as great dining and shopping areas, like Legacy West.

Britton Homes, a subsidiary of Perry Homes, is a homebuilder in the Frisco community of Hollyhock and Phillips Creek Ranch and is the exclusive homebuilder in the Villas at Legacy West in Plano. The company has other communities throughout Dallas/Fort Worth. Hollyhock, which is in Frisco’s school district and located just 1.5 miles from the Dallas North Tollway, features numerous parks and trail network, as well as a sleek community center with homes starting in the low $400s. Phillips Creek Ranch, in Frisco, features 100 acres of green space, lakes, creeks, trails, parks with homes starting in the low $500s.

The Villas at Legacy West, in Plano, feature 2 and 3-story modern designs. This community is an ideal location for residents seeking a low-maintenance lifestyle in a high-end community within walking distance to Legacy West. Homes in this community start in the mid $600s.

Britton Homes differentiates itself from other area builders with its many design options and its generous buyer protections. It offers a two-year warranty on each of its homes, while most other builders provide a one-year warranty. Britton Homes also gives buyers a wider range of features to choose from, allowing for a more customized feel.

With endless local activities and elegant Britton Homes communities, Frisco and Plano are hot destinations to eat, drink, play, and live. Click here to find out more about Britton Homes.
