Shopping For Everyone at Legacy West

Keep an eye on the new crop of stores flanking West Plano.

The city of Plano has long been listed among the nation’s fastest-growing cities, and it’s quickly become a not-so-suburban mecca for its shopping, dining, and entertainment destinations—not to mention its attraction of global corporations like Toyota, Boeing, JPMorgan Chase, Liberty Mutual and FedEx Offfice. Its latest feature, Legacy West, will join the parcel of prime real estate to the west of the Dallas North Tollway. And while its developers are surely building it—and building it big—who will come?

Chillaxed Athleisure Enthusiasts

Before you head into one of Dallas’ many spin studios or yoga classes, make the trip to Legacy West to stock up on Fabletics’ enviable leggings and activewear (and we’ll trust just about anything co-founded by the seemingly ageless Kate Hudson). This will be the brand’s first storefront in Texas. “Boho-chic” retailer Blue Planet is a great spot to find more relaxed additions to your wardrobe, while fans of a more outdoorsy sort of workout regimen should check out Filson’s wide range of adventure gear. At Legacy West, you can even pick up a pair of Coach sneakers to add some luxury to leg day.

Those Who Speak “Boutique”

Sure, we Dallasites are no strangers to top-notch shopping. But for boutique aficionados, Legacy West is primetime. Here you’ll get your shopping experience with a refined and highbrow twist— retailers like Filson, Frontgate, Johnny Was, Warby Parker, and West Elm aren’t exactly your typical shopping mall locales. And with more than 415,000 square feet dedicated to open-air retail, you’ll have no trouble finding a fountain-flanked place to rest your shopping bags while you explore. Or, just head to the Venetian Nail Spa (that is, if not by Sephora for some at-home mani/pedi supplies).

If you’re looking for an open-air experience suitable for the entire family, Legacy West fits that bill, too. The onsite Barnes & Noble, though a shopping center staple, is the first of its kind in the southwest to house a restaurant—with beer and wine!—alongside its typical bookseller offerings. If you need to pick up a well tailored suit, head to Bonobos, Pockets, Peter Millar, or Suitsupply—seriously, take your pick from a long roster of men’s clothiers. Or if you need to stock up for an upcoming vacation, check out Tommy Bahama and TUMI. No matter where you’re headed next, Legacy West provides the perfect place to get some light shopping done in a bustling-yet-relaxed venue.
