Dallas Stores Expand to Houston
Two North Texas retailers, Go Easy and The Plant Project, are planning to put down roots in Houston. Both women-owned businesses opened in Dallas last year and have already established strong customer bases. Go Easy, a charming, colorful shop in Bishop Arts, stocks CBD tinctures, beauty and skincare products, and other wellness finds. Its new Houston location, which opens on June 11, is located inside M-K-T, a mixed-use development in the Heights. The Plant Project, the first Black- and woman-owned plant shop in Dallas, carries myriad houseplants, home goods, and accessories inside its State Thomas storefront. Miron Crosby Launches a Collaboration with Artist Stephanie Cooper Johnson
Bespoke boot brand Miron Crosby is pairing up with fine artist Stephanie Cooper Johnson to launch a capsule collection celebrating the landscapes of the Lone Star State. Johnson is a painter whose work is heavily influenced by nature; for this collection, she pulled inspiration from the Hill Country, like butterflies and flowers. The capsule collection features three distinct landscapes, each hand-painted onto some of Miron Crosby’s best-selling styles, like the Molly midi boot. Visit Miron Crosby at Highland Park Village on June 3 to sip ranch waters and shop the collection. Johnson will be on-site to personalize your pair.
Macy’s Debuts a New Concept Shop in Allen
Following the successful launch of Market by Macy’s, a high-end and carefully curated shop in Southlake, Macy’s has once again chosen North Texas to debut a new offshoot. Last weekend, the retail giant hosted a grand opening celebration for Macy’s Backstage in The Village at Allen. It’s an outlet concept that allows shoppers to find their favorite Macy’s brands at significant discounts. Other department stores have found these discount stores to be lucrative–Nordstrom Rack, Saks Off 5th, Neiman Marcus Last Call, and Bloomingdale’s Outlet all have a presence in North Texas. Though the Backstage concept already exists inside over 200 Macy’s storefronts, this is the first standalone location.
