After painting our own nails for months, getting a fresh mani from a professional has never sounded better. That said, the unlimited options at a salon now feel overwhelming. To help you plan ahead, we asked local nail experts to share this summer’s most popular trends. Ashley Tran, the owner of Verbena Parlor + Social House, weighs in, as does Nina, an artist at Rose Couture Nail Bar who counts some of Dallas’ biggest influencers as her clients.

Shapes and Lengths

Nina recommends an almond shape if you have medium-length nails. This shape works well whether you choose a solid color or a design. This season clients with long nails are gravitating towards coffin shapes—think squared-off nail edges and corners.

Colors

Sticking with the classics is always a safe bet. From there, you can layer on eye-catching details. “Clients are loving light pink and nude pink because they go with everything and still look basic and simple,” says Nina.

Nail Art

Ashley explains that detailed designs are as in style as ever. Verbena Parlor’s clients are requesting flower motifs, boho-inspired designs, tiny patterns created with paintbrushes, and colorful abstract styles.
