Wisteria Says Farewell
After 19 years as a Dallas staple, Wisteria is closing its doors. The celebrated Inwood Village retailer is known for a carefully curated blend of global designs, including furniture, outdoor accessories, mirrors, and pillows. Tecovas Opens a New Outpost
Beloved bootmaker Tecovas is gearing up to open a new location in the Fort Worth Stockyards. We’re longtime fans of this direct-to-consumer brand–their leather goods are buttery soft and artisan-crafted, yet surprisingly affordable. The grand opening festivities will take place on July 11; stop in to enjoy live music, free drinks, and complimentary boot shines.
Knox District Shops Shut Their Doors
Once upon a time, Knox Street was the ideal destination for an afternoon of shopping and strolling. Now, however, most of its storefronts are vacant. Res Ipsa, Parachute, and BLDWN have been permanently closed for weeks. Kate Spade New York recently shuttered, too. Aesop’s closure is supposedly temporary, though its windows are boarded up. Froggie’s 5 & 10 Toy Store has moved into a smaller space. The only storefront that seems to be thriving is Lululemon Athletica–the line to enter is almost always wrapped around the block.
To prevent another wave of closings, be sure to shop small next time you feel like splurging. Favor the Kind and Esther Penn, both located on Henderson Avenue, are great places to start.
Valentino Gets a Makeover
The Valentino storefront in Highland Park Village has added nearly 700 square feet of retail space. The addition will house an extensive men’s department, which includes ready-to-wear clothing, shoes, accessories, and fragrances. Stop in to shop black-and-white printed pieces, neon backpacks and fanny packs, and casual-cool sneakers.
