Though Cerón goes by just one name, it’s one of the biggest names in the industry. The celebrated hairstylist’s clientele includes Heidi Klum and Cindy Crawford; he’s also styled runway looks for Oscar de la Renta and Christian Dior. For 20 years, Cerón has been a fixture in Houston, where he owns and operates two eponymous salons. Now, he’s bringing his talents to Dallas.
Expanding to the North Texas market was a natural progression. Céron and his husband, acclaimed event planner Todd Fiscus, already split their time between the cities, and, thanks to past residencies at Neiman Marcus and ERA Salon, Cerón has an established Dallas following.
Cerón Hair’s new location in Highland Park Village opened this morning. The salon space, which is nestled between Carolina Herrera and Frame, was previously occupied by Frederic Fekkai. When Cerón took over, the entire Fekkai team was brought on board, including artistic director Tony Salle. Though Cerón and the Fekkai stylists are best known for their expert coloring and artful cuts, Cerón Hair offers a robust menu of other services, including hair extensions, keratin treatments, manicures, pedicures, and facials.
The 2,000-square-foot space has been reimagined for Cerón and his team. Designed to feel like an intimate, glamorous women’s dressing salon, it’s outfitted with cream-colored furniture and metallic accents. A private aesthetician area was added to allow for privacy during facials and makeup applications. Guests can also receive manicures, pedicures, and facials simultaneously in the salon’s new lounge chairs. Product displays are fully stocked with haircare and beauty lines such as Oribe, Kérastase, and Chantecaille.
The salon’s management recognizes that while they’re permitted to operate, COVID-19 is still a risk. To protect both stylists and clients, co-owners Cerón and Fiscus worked with artistic director Tony Salle to create stringent safety guidelines.
Before their appointments, clients receive a detailed memo with instructions. For example, upon arrival, clients should call to check in before entering the building. Masks are required; Cerón Hair will provide one if needed. Clients must arrive alone–no guests allowed. Finally, the salon asks that clients arrive no earlier than 15 minutes and no later than 10 minutes from their scheduled appointment time.
