Mr. Porter Shines a Spotlight on Stylish Dallas Creatives

The e-commerce giant featured seven fashionable Dallas men on its site today.

Dallas is generally thought of as a fashion-forward city (at least in my mind), but that doesn’t always apply to its male population. The stereotypical Dallas man has an unfortunate uniform: button-down shirt (probably checked), half-zip pullover, some kind of slacks, Sperrys, Wayfarers on a sunny day. You’ve seen him gleefully scooting around downtown on his lunch break, blissfully unaware of his bland fashion sense. Luckily, not everyone in town attended the SMU frat boy school of style (sorry, y’all). There are plenty of chic guys in Dallas, and it’s about time they got their dues.

Today, Mr. Porter, the men’s section of mega retailer Net-A-Porter, highlighted seven Dallas artists in The Journal, its weekly magazine. The publication’s US Editor Chris Wallace toured the city, which he admits is an “under-appreciated hub of art and architecture.” The dudes joined him, talking about their art and their opinions on Dallas while dressed in new threads from Mr. Porter’s in-house label, Mr. P.

The subjects: Will Rhoten a.k.a. DJ Sober; photo and video-based artist Tramaine Townsend; visual artist Anthony Jay Falcon; architectural designer and blogger Eddie Fortuna; professional skateboarder Ke’Chaud Johnson; photographer Paul Tellefsen, who owns the marketing agency technopaul; and artist and designer Kyle Hobratschk.
