The beauty business is booming here in Dallas – and not just thanks to the opening of more blow dry bars than we can shake our sleek strands at. Lately, there’s been a slew of specialty beauty boutiques open up within the past couple of months in the area. Here, we break them all down, so you can expand your beauty buying horizons.

Credo

Location: Legacy West, Plano

If the idea of a store packed with clean beauty products sounds like your jam, then we urge you to head over to Credo. This 1300-square-foot beauty emporium opened in Legacy West this January and features over 100 organic beau brands such as Indie Lee, Juice Beauty, and RMS. Originally created by Annie Jackson and the late Shashi Batra – two San Francisco locals that were part of the original executive team that launched Sephora in the U.S. – Credo also features a full menu of spa experiences with Tata Harper facials, makeup applications and brow waxing. And, if you’re confused about what exactly which clean ingredients should be included in your beauty products, members of the Credo team are available to offer Clean Beauty Swap consultations allowing you to switch out your current products for those in-store with clean, effective alternatives.

Cos Bar

Location: Plaza at Preston Center, University Park

High-end brands such as Clé de Peau, Tom Ford, and Sisley-Paris stock the shelves in the striking, 1200-square-foot beauty boutique, which opened in February. Cos Bar founder Lily Garfield, a longtime resident of Aspen, Colorado, originally created the space in 1976 to help other people combat the (sometimes harsh) weather in The Rockies. From there, Cos Bar expanded across the United States, choosing Dallas for its 20th location. The boutique features a Cos Bar B. Cos loyalty program that for every $1 spent, a point is earned. Once $100 worth of points are accumulated, customers will receive $3 off in-store and online purchases.

Bluemercury

Location: Highland Park Village, Plano, and Southlake

When Marla and Barry Beck created Bluemercury in 1999, cosmetics could only be purchased at drugstore or department stores. In her pursuit to quickly find beauty products that would maintain her healthy, glowing, skin, Marla and Berry – a serial entrepreneur – opened the first Bluemercury in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. The stores aim is for consumers to find high quality, innovative beauty products and honest, expert advice. Aside from the Highland Park location, there’s also the locations in Plano’s Shops at Legacy Park, Southlake, and — coming soon — Fort Worth.

Riley Rose

With its bright pink wall accents, it’s really hard not to enter this beauty store – which opened December 2017 – and not nab every super affordable hair masque or makeup remover. The beauty brainchild of Linda and Esther Chang – the daughters of the founders of Forever 21 – Riley Rose was created specifically as a shopping destination for Millenial and Gen Z consumers. The sisters came up with the beauty dream world of Riley Rose – a social, savvy, confident, carefree, playful and on-trend female that craves an interactive experience. Here you’ll find tons of global brands and guests are welcome to “indulge their fantasies, get lost and run wild” with the products, according to the Chang sisters.

The Greenway Shop

Curated by Hallie Lamont and Flauren Bender, two Dallas locals and former lawyers who bonded over their love of health and wellness, this store features toxin and paraben-free products from beauty brands such as RMS and Shiva Rose. You’ll also find beauty powder supplements from The Beauty Chef and products for moms and baby from Zoe Organics.

If you’re ready to drop some major dough while looking for the most decadent beauty products in the game, look no further than the beauty counter located within Forty Five Ten. Known as Rare Beauty, you’ll find lots of high end cosmetics, haircare, fragrance and skincare products. Our favorites include skincare products from Dr. Barbara Sturm (the Hyaluronic Serum gives skin a magical glow) and the ultra-luxe lipsticks from Edward Bess.

Follain

Location: On Knox Street, next to the Apple Store.

Designed to look like a dreamy bathroom, Follain’s heavily-vetted lineup of effective, luxurious, and most importantly, nontoxic options includes May Lindstrom, Kjaer Weis, Tata Harper, Earth Tu Face, RMS Beauty, and cult favorite Vintner’s Daughter, as well as a refillable natural soap station. “When you walk into the stores, it’s not set up by brand, it’s actually set up by category to make it as customer-centric as possible,” says founder Tara Foley.
