6 Dallas Events to Shop This Weekend

So much small business goodness. So little time.

Something amazing happened this week: I wore a sweater and I actually needed it. I may even let loose this weekend and wear a jacket. Watch out!

And while I’m potentially sporting that admittedly light jacket, I might find myself at any of six fantastic local events all over town. From Bishop Arts to Highland Park Village, there’s an event or market that slays. Here, we take you through all the wellness-, southern-, and small business-centric goodness.

The Indie Beauty Expo at Neiman Marcus

Friday & Saturday

This is big. For the first time, Neiman Marcus NorthPark is partnering with Indie Beauty Expo hosting a two-day showcase of 15 under-the-radar beauty brands. Test out the products, get to know the founders, and find your new favorite small business. Featured brands include the organic New Zealand beauty brand Girl Undiscovered, Texan Dana Jackson’s Beneath Your Mask, and Planted in Beauty by Well Within, a plant-based vegan skincare line co-founded by two longtime La Prairie execs.

Highland Park Village’s Southern Fall Festival

Saturday | 8am – 1p

The shopping center’s monthly LOCAL market is getting an especially Southern spin with a guest vendor appearance from Garden & Gun’s executive managing editor, who will be signing copies of the magazine’s latest release, “S is for Southern: A Guide to the South, from Absinthe to Zydeco.” Two dozen seasonal vendors will also be in attendance, including Beccara’s Tamales, Naturally Curly Cook and their kolaches, and Mother Beverage, who somehow managed to make your daily dose of apple cider vinegar taste good.

Flea Style’s Dallas Fall Market

Saturday

Brittany Cobb’s seasonal market returns, and per usually, it’s bigger than ever. So big, in fact, that the 200-something vendors will find themselves in a new locale this Saturday: a 60,000-square-foot space in the Dallas Market Center. Expect quality vendors, live music, cocktails, food trucks, games for the kiddos, and the feel-good experience of supporting a small business owner’s dreams.

The Gypsy Wagon’s Swap & Party

Sunday | 10am-4pm

Celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Henderson Avenue staple with crazy awesome markdowns and pop-up shops from brands such as Baine Bowen, All the Wire, and MM Vintage. Keep yourself satiated with Mom’s Buns Bakery and The Tamale Company.

Tyler and Davis Street Small Block Walk

Friday | 6-10pm

This man-approved market is hosted by one of our favorite stores for gents, and features great Dallas-based brands, including Mizzen+Main, Boulevard East, and Fulton & Roark. Live music and food trucks are included, of course.

Garrett Leight Opens to the Public

Saturday

So-Cal cool eyewear brand Garrett Leight is opening its new Knox Street doors this weekend. This isn’t an actual event per se, but the shop is seriously beautiful, so go treat your eyes in more ways than one.
