American Apparel’s Loss is Your Gain (For a Limited Time Only)

The folding retailer’s entire stock is 50 percent off.

Bankrupt retailer American Apparel is officially shutting down all its retail locations, and after running through Mockingbird Station yesterday, I can report that the store is currently stacked floor-to-ceiling with boxes of discounted merch. A shopclerk told me the store will close their doors sometime in April and the NorthPark Center location will go dark before the end of the year—which just might leave Dallasites without a place to buy gold lamé leggings and deep-V leotards. Until then, everything from U.S.-made basic tees to hot-right-now mom jeans (which ironically never seem to fit my mom hips) is half off. And if you’re wondering what Dov Charney (AA’s ousted founder and legendary creepo) is up to, this Los Angeles Magazine profile isn’t a bad read.
