5 Reasons to Get Excited About The Dallas Flea

After making the move to Trinity Groves this year, The Dallas Flea is back and bigger than ever with double the artisan booths, a food truck court, a live music stage, a photo booth and the relaxing Dwell with Dignity lounge.

With more going on this year than we can even keep track of, we turned to The Dallas Flea founder, interior designer and former lifestyle editor Brittany Cobb, to break it down and give us her top five reasons to get excited about this year’s event.

1. To check out the indoor marketplace’s new digs!  The five-year old flea market — which holds D Magazine’s “Best New Event” honors — has moved from South Side on Lamar to a whopping 20,000 square foot warehouse in the thriving Trinity Groves neighborhood.

2. The show has doubled its vendor count.  Owner/interior designer Brittany Cobb has hand-selected 102 artisans and small business owners from all corners of Texas (50 are new to the flea) to hawk their handmade, vintage and one-of-a-kind wares.  Expect mostly furniture, paper goods and jewelry in addition to clothing, cowboy boots, art and loads of home decor.  We can’t wait to get on our hands on fresh cut floral arrangements by Bows + Arrows and Thicket and Thatch’s watercolor prints.  And don’t get us started on three-booths chock full of kilim, oushak and Moroccan rugs from Cobb’s personal source for clients.

3. The Dallas Flea has its first-ever booth!  Cobb has been collecting cool loot from markets around the globe from Southern California to Buenos Aires.  Expect French linen blouses, Turkish pillows, breezy hammocks, kantha throws and pretty pottery.  Better yet?  Nothing tops $140.

4. There’s a bar, people. The guys behind LUCK (Local Urban Craft Kitchen at Trinity Groves) and Tribal Juices are mixing drinks for shoppers to sip while perusing the marketplace in addition to offering Four Corners brews.

5. Dwell with Dignity is outfitting a 500 square foot lounge — adjacent to Denton-based guitarist Jackson Eli — chock full of cool furnishings from their donations warehouse. All items are for sale and 100-percent of proceeds go to the local nonprofit, which supports impoverished families through design.

The Dallas Flea takes over 2900 Bataan Street in Trinity Groves (the big green building!) from 9am – 4pm on Saturday, March 7.
