The colorful “candy shop” at Aftershock

Don’t remove your sunnies when you walk into Aftershock London’s flagship U.S. location (sequins, glitter, and gemstones, oh my!). The shop in The Plaza at Preston Center is 1850 square feet of bling, but a no brainer for ladies looking to dazzle during big nights out (prom, for example). The clientele also includes glamourous older women in the ballroom dance scene, according to USA director Imran Sheikh. Browse the bright accessory wall, playfully referred to as the “candy shop,” or call yourself Princess Beatrice and prop a fascinator atop your head. The sparkly brand was started by an Indian couple who now boast more than 100 stores in the U.K. and around the world. Come for colorful patterns, animal prints, lots of embellishment, and, of course, sequins (even the walls are covered in the stuff). I spotted something at every price point. If you stop in for their summer sale, expect to shell out around $245 for a Missoni-esque maxi, $570 for a hand-appliqued evening gown, and $52 for a snake print clutch.
