ShopTalk’s Looking for an Intern

A scene from The Hills. The ShopTalk internship will not be like this.

Although the year isn’t quite over, we’re already sorting through applications for next semester’s batch of capable interns. As usual, ShopTalk and our shopping department (i.e. me) need an intern. Here’s the long and short of it:

This is not a styling internship. If you’re hoping to spend your time dressing models and selecting high fashion for the glossy pages of D Magazine, this probably isn’t the internship for you. But here’s what we are looking for: an organized, energetic intern with writing skills and a knack for multitasking. Photography skills are a bonus. Be prepared to spend your time working on the web side of things, adding fashion and beauty-related events to our online calendar and new places to our shopping and nightlife directories, contributing to our ShopTalk shopping and beauty blog, fact-checking our shopping directory, calling stores to get information, keeping tabs on exciting sales, and researching fashion trends. We’ll also trust our intrepid intern to assist on photo shoots, visit local boutiques to round up interesting ideas for online shopping features, pitch new story ideas, and assist with big projects, like the 10 Most Beautiful Women in Dallas. Again, writing skills are a must.

Internship application deadline: November 19. For details on D Magazine Partners’ internship program, click here. To apply, click here.
