Milk + Honey = Awesome

Chic + cheerful decor = happy shopping
A wardrobe full of handbags.

Went to the store opening last night of Milk + Honey, a new women’s boutique on Henderson, and I was impressed and surprised. You’ll fall in love with the shop’s decor when you walk in. It is a bit Anthropologie-esque, but owner Brittany Thomas has her own thing going on, too. Patches of greenery decorate the walls, shabby chic furniture stores handbags, Archipelago beauty products, and jewelry, and chalkboard-painted dressing room doors let attendants organize fittings. The biggest shock came when I flipped over the first price tag on a silky top. It said $42. Wait. What? Is that real, I wondered? I don’t remember the last time I saw a number that low hanging from a garment in a Dallas boutique. I flipped a few (okay, several) more tags over and found nothing more than $100 in the store, save for a leather jacket priced at $138. Currently in the shop, you’ll knitted outwear, capes, long vests, chunky sweaters with short and long sleeves, printed blouses (perfect for transitioning from office attire to happy hour), dresses with leather details and open backs, and some casual, trendy finds, like short-in-the-front-long-in-the-back plaid button-downs, and sweatshirt style tops with zipper details. Jump for photos and to see my favorite finds.

Blouse Row

Ladylike tops with trendy touches: a sheer blouse with lace shoulder pads, button-downs with cutout fabrics, dainty tees with stud-like adornments, and cropped sequin tees.

Through that doorway is the sale room, where you’ll find duds for as low as $18. That’s a steal.
