I just made a necklace on make-own-jewelry site, Sheyna.com, that was begun with the help of our very own SMU alum, Lauren Michaels. The digital drag-and-drop sketchpad lets you make whatever kind of jewelry you want. I chose a necklace, picked a couple stones (aqua chalcedony), added a bead (an aqua chalcedony tumbled), dropped in a couple charms, and selected a connector. For each piece I added/deleted, the price changed. The necklace I created right (don’t judge–I rushed) rings up at $63.65. How awesome is that? If you’ve ever seen a piece of jewelry that’s almost what you wanted but not quite, quit whining and make it yourself at Sheyna.com. Plus, it’s fun!
