Coming Soon: Adrift Float Spa (A Spa for Floating)

You'll float instead of get a facial at this new spa. (Oh, and you'll be in your birthday suit.)

Kristin
and I had the opportunity to meet with the trio of owners from soon-to-open Adrift Float Spa last week, and we’re excited about the new spa, tentatively scheduled for business in December. (You can see the sign off Preston Road, near California Pizza Kitchen.) The spa, as you might guess, really is all about floating. Rather than coming here for facials and massages, you’ll visit to float in a pool of 10-inch water mixed with 800 pounds of Epsom salts for an hour. You can float alone or with a partner, in silence or with meditative music, and in the dark or with color therapy lights. Sounds pretty cool, right? We think so, too. Plus, Epsom salts, as you may already know are powerful detoxifiers, so this is really is about health and wellness, too. Owners Dr. Noah Daniel, Stevie Tate, and Bernadette Fiaschetti all had great personal experiences to share with us (extreme relaxation, zen-like states, endorphin bursts, etc.), but we can’t wait to try it out ourselves. The floating, as we’re told, will be followed by 30 minutes in an anti-gravity massage chair. (Apparently the relaxation is so deep after floating, it’s not safe to drive right away.) Pricing seems pretty affordable. It’s $89 for a single session and $139 for a Couple Float.

Anyone out there who’s been to a float spa before? (There aren’t many, but they do exist.) We’d love to hear about it.
