After attending the opening night of Jerry Szor’s new gallery in Preston Center, my wish-o-meter went into overdrive. Not only was there beautiful jewelry, but handbag designer Wendy Stevens was there to showcase her cutting-edge stainless steel purses. My first two questions were: are these bags heavy, and are they expensive? (They look expensive.) The answers: no and no. The purses range in size and price, but they start around $245 and go up to $890. While $890 may be out of reason for some people, $245 is much more doable. Szor will continue to carry Stevens’ bags, which is good news for the holidays! –Katherine Paullus
