Mal Malouf is Open (And it’s Great!)

Mal Malouf is open (has been for almost a week), and I love what I’ve seen. Mal, owner of the boutique, walked me around the boutique on Thursday and showed me the great mix of casual and dressy pieces, colorful jewelry, handbags, and outfits that feel appropriate for mom, daughter, and everyone in between. When you walk in, there’s a twinkling jewelry display with giftable necklaces in the $30 range and a tree of rock-adorned bangles (see after the jump). There’s an area for “running around town” (which is a genius way to organize a section of clothing). Here, you’ll find leggings in every color and print, oversized tees, and drape-y cardigans. But my favorite section is probably (what I would call) the “little black dress corner.” I saw tastefully sequined cocktail dresses, Halston-esque one-sleeve dresses, and a black and white bandage dress a la Hervé Léger starting at $92.

Dainty bangles with pretty stones

Cocktail dresses abound. (from left) Central Park West one-sleeve dress, $98; Frank Lyman bandage dress, $270; peach and black Hazel flapper dress, $92

Love the hippie-chic leather flower cuffs, left, and my favorite Rory Ashton earrings!
