I didn’t spell it wrong – it’s an acronym. Environmentally conscious organization celebrating honoring inspiring creative communities. A chance discussion at my Pilates class led me to this cool lady who manufactures apparel in Brazil from pop tops, grasses, and fish skin. (I’m not so sure about the last one, seems like it might smell pretty bad.) Waleska Tepping’s company is Fashionista Source and she manufactures everything in Brazilia where local artisans scout the dumps to find treasures to make. After this weekend at the International Folk Art Market in Santa Fe, I just can’t get enought of hand crafted and recycled items – especially when these trades help alleviate poverty so much where they are made. PS – they are not repped here in Dallas, so shop owners take note.
