Tan Talk Continued: St. Tropez Tan at the Crescent

images-21Finally, I’m able to chime in on the tan talk. So … yesterday I visited the Spa at the Crescent, where St. Tropez Tan expert Michelle transformed my bod from pasty to pretty. (As my friend Mackenzie always used to say, “Tan fat looks better than white fat.” Right-o, Mamma Mack.) The spa offers three St. Tropez services: the 80-minute “Summer Glow” package, which includes a full body scrub, a scalp, hand, and foot massage, and the airbrush tan for $140; the “Spa Tan” for an exfoliation and airbrush tan at $100; and a single spray tan sans exfoliation for $50. They also sell St. Tropez products, so you can sustain your glow at home. It was the Spa Tan for me, and although I believe a spray tan will never be completely enjoyable (brrr!), adding a spa treatment like exfoliation makes it feel more luxurious and less like a chore. I’m not exactly a tan aficionado, but I have done the Mystic and tried a few stinky at-home remedies, all with less-than-stellar results. The St. Tropez is the best I’ve seen for a natural, even, sun-kissed look. And it doesn’t smell awful either—only the slightest twinge of spray tan. Two thumbs up!
