I haven’t been by to check out the selection as of yet (curious to check out the shoes), but Nordstrom Rack was the first retailer of the new Park Lane development to open yesterday. Other retailers to follow include Dick’s Sporting Goods and Lane Bryant/Cacique on April 3, and The Children’s Place on April 24. But how, you ask, does anyone dare open anything in these tough times?
“We’re thrilled to open a project of this magnitude now, despite the current economic conditions,” said Eliot Barnett, managing partner with Harvest Partners. “We’re also glad that Park Lane will help boost the local economy by adding hundreds of new jobs to the Vickery Meadow area.”
The opening weekend will include a full range of activities. At 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, Nordstrom Rack will host a “Race Through the Rack” event, with a $1,000 shopping spree winner. On Saturday and Sunday, March 21 and 22, Dick’s Sporting Goods will celebrate its opening with a live fishing demonstration. The Children’s Place will have family friendly activities including face painting and balloons, and Lane Bryant/Cacique will offer 20% off from Friday, April 3 to Sunday, April 5. Let us know what you think if you make it by there.
