Heritage Auction Gallery“s live auction this month is Fine Silver and Vertu. What that means to me is fantastic vintage silver jewelry – like the kind from Taxco, Mexico that was originated by William Spratling in the 1940’s. As sort of an expatriot New York architect, he moved to Taxco and discovered the incredible silver mines there. That’s where he put his design skills to work and started designing silver jewelry – there are several pieces in this show.
