Onsite to the Rescue: Cell Phone Repair

|

If you’re like me, you drop your phone from time to time (ok, more than that) and find yourself with a broke screen, water damage, keypad issues, etc. When in this predicament it’s frustrating because your cell phone provider often tells you the only option is to get a new phone. I mean, really, they can’t replace a cracked screen on a Blackberry or iPhone? I found that hard to believe. After much distress over a broken Blackberry (before they offered insurance on them – the little ball in the middle popped off) and a stolen iPhone (thanks to someone at Target on Haskell), someone finally tipped me off to Onsite Cellular Repair, a cell phone repair store that can fix pretty much anything! My husband had a free upgrade that I wanted to use to replace my stolen iPhone but the screen on his Blackberry was cracked and he was told he had to get a new phone. So this past weekend we set off in search of the store, located at Forest and 75 (very unassuming, tucked in a small space next door to Chipotle). Lo and behold they were able to replace the screen in less than 20 minutes for only $36. When I asked the guy at the counter if he fixed iPhone’s as well, he happily replied “I can fix anything”. Services include: display issues, cosmetic upgrades, keypad issues, water damaged, audio issues, software updates, charging issues, data transfer, and more for handsets by Apple, Blackberry, Palm, Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, LG, Sony Ericcson, Kyocera, and HTC. All repairs are done in-store and average about 30 minutes, with some exceptions. They have two locations in the Dallas area (11613 Central Expy and 930 Melbourne Road in Hurst). I can’t believe it took me so long to find this place …was I living under a rock or are cell phone companies doing everything they can to keep this place a secret? If you know of any other places that do this, let us know.
