Laura Bush and her long time decorator Ken Blasingame have been shopping for Daria Place doing their part to help out the showrooms in the Design District. Brendan Bass let me know they ordered some wall sconces, and “she was quite gracious and chatty.” They have also ordered a sofa from the George Cameron Nash showroom. Since every piece of upholstery they ordered for the White House was from the Cameron Collection, he asked where they were. He was told ” they have all been tagged and are stored in the White House archives.” So, a little bit of George is in the presidential archives – scary, huh? One of her favorites? Peter Fasano, who has made custom fabrics specially for her, and she and his wife have become fast friends. So, any other stories from the District?
