Koplavich & Zimmer Closes

By Peggy Levinson |

Another vacancy in the Dallas Design Center – Koplavich & Zimmer has locked the doors.  Or, it seems been locked out by the center.  It’s a shame because this company had so much to offer.  Remember Silk Trading Co. with the beautiful and affordable silks, and the “drapery in a box”?  Brilliant idea, and Warren Kay was making lots of money.  Then, after spending big bucks developing that brand  – he adds the name K & Z to attract the “designer crowd” and ditched the STC name in Dallas.  After moving to North Park.  And not listening to me when I advised him to find a space in the Knox-Henderson area.  Can you imagine what a hit that would have been among all those furniture stores?  Golden, I think.
