Unfair Park blogger—and my former co-worker—Robert Wilonsky alerts us to the news that the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood has nominated the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Barbie for a TOADY Award. TOADY stands for Toys Oppressive And Destructive to Young Children, and cheerleader Barbie gets the nod because, as the CCFC says, it’s “Recommended for ages five and up so girls can learn at a young age that they don’t belong in the game—they belong on the sideline cheering for boys.” I’m more offended by the $79.99 price tag.
