Dark Lip Alert

Dear Very Fashionable Dallas,

Please hop on the Black Lips Train. I know it’s weird, but I really love it. Okay, yes, it’s a little gothic, but paired with a classy dress, it can be so glam! And it doesn’t have to be worn alone, you know. You can try it over red for a little bite. (See photo after jump.) And speaking of bite, if vampire books are cool, why not vampire lips? Even New York magazine has called it a “fall must-have.” I’ve tried YSL’s Pur Black and Lancôme’s Piha Black. They’re totally different. But I love them equally. The YSL version is thick, extra shiny and fiercely bold. Lancôme’s is sheerer, just as shiny, and adds just the right amount of drama to your mouth. So, come on, won’t you give it a try? If you don’t, I’m going to continue to get funny stares when I’m out wearing it around town.

Jump for bunches of pics. (Photo on left is from YSL’s fall 2008 runway.)

You should see what a real mouth looks like in this stuff, and I haven’t taken pictures of me in it, so look for the two matching pouts at the bottom. (Photos from the Temptalia blog at http://www.temptalia.com/.)
