The Future of Fashion?

HC SS09I have to say designer, Hussein Chalayan has a way of getting people’s attention. He’s certainly got a unique point of view and always creates futuristic fashions that somehow relate to what’s going on in the world today. His Spring 2009 collection features hand-painted dresses (some made of silicone) with blurred images of crushed cars. As Style.com reports, “It’s about the speed in our lives and how it can only result in a crash,” Chalayan explained, adding that the prints, which included number plates, car handles, and fenders, were “taken from pictures of car graves.” You can view a video of the show, that concluded with shattered wine glasses, here. I am definitely intrigued.
