There’s no doubt Dallas is a concrete jungle, but what if you could escape it all? Retreat to the great outdoors in this modern North Dallas home, located at 11345 West Ricks Circle, which is encased entirely by nine-foot, floor-to-ceiling glass windows.
Architect Joshua Nimmo was inspired by the famous all-glass Farnsworth House in Plano, Illinois, listing agent Melissa Jennings says. Completed in 2019, the 6,325-square-foot home took about six years to construct and features 40 slabs of Italian marble. Cantilevered over a five-feet-deep basement, “the intention was for the house to look like it’s floating,” Jennings says.
Outside, the 1.33-acre estate is a lush landscape crafted by award-winning Hocker Design Group. Large live oaks surround the property, and the center of the courtyard includes a show-stopping cascading circular pool made entirely of black granite.
“It’s like your own little private oasis back there,” Jennings says.
Although it may seem like there’s no distinction between the outdoors and indoors in this home, large glass doors tuck into the walls to create the perfect indoor-outdoor entertaining space. And to block out the sun on sleepy weekend mornings, the house includes motorized drapes that also hide behind the walls when open.
The luxe interiors include formal and informal living and dining spaces with Calacatta marble—the slabs were hand-matched to ensure the veins in the stone line up, ensuring a seamless look throughout the home, says Jennings.
Other features include nearly 4,000 square feet of outdoor entertaining space and a four-car garage that’s concealed in a black cube.
