Laps of Luxury: A Backyard Paradise in Northwest Dallas

Welcome back to Laps of Luxury, a weekly summer series where we spotlight the most stunning pools in North Texas.

Today’s gem of a pool is nestled in the Bluffview neighborhood of Northwest Dallas. 8647 Wingate Drive is steps away from Bachman Lake Park and a few blocks from Love Field.

The recently remodeled Mediterranean build feels more southern California than North Texas. Visitors are greeted by a lush front lawn and a winding driveway; two palm trees flank the front door.

Inside, the home has a laid-back elegance. Traditional wood floors and arched doorways are complemented by modern light fixtures and contemporary cabinetry.

While the interior of this home is glamorous, the backyard is where it really shines. The landscaping is a standout, from the dramatically lit palm trees to the checkerboard-patterned grass pavers. A tile fountain doubles as a surface on which to project movies. You’ll also find a seating area with a fire pit and a basketball hoop.

The pool was built directly next to a sunken outdoor grill and wet bar; guests can swim right up to enjoy a cocktail. The raised spa is accented by glittering blue tiles, while a row of stepping stones defines the opposite edge. Finally, a collection of submerged chaise lounges offers yet another place to soak up the sun.
