Whether or not we’d like to admit it, first impressions are huge. And in this case, if you immediately take a glance at this posh High Prairie style home located in the Swiss Avenue Historic District and think “this is bound to be just as fabulous on the inside as it is on the outside” then this particular first impression is an accurate summation of the house in general.

Designed by architect Charles P. Sites, this 1917 construction has been meticulously maintained to both honor the home’s history and welcome modern amenities that keep it luxurious. From the moment you walk inside and take in the stately foyer with its bifurcated stairs, you are hooked. You are immediately time warped and can feel the regal charm of the neighborhood that once made this the most prized place to live in Dallas. And to those who are lucky enough to still call the neighborhood home, they’d argue that it still is.

One of the renovated areas of the home is the kitchen that features a practical butcher-block island and also has high grade appliances, granite countertops, and a large butler’s pantry which was once a breakfast room. The current breakfast room, which was once a screened in porch, and the formal dining room flow beautifully for dinner parties. The owners went with era appropriate cabinetry to make the kitchen fit in with the rest of the property.

The home has four bedrooms and three and half bathrooms. And while the master is certainly the largest, all of the bedrooms are nice in size considering the age of the home. There are also five living areas, an office, and a sizeable laundry/mudroom. Natural light that money can’t buy makes an already gorgeous home radiate even more.

When you step outside to the backyard, its sophisticated patio and cabana overlooking a lap length heated pool serves as the best seat in the house. Can you imagine the stories told by the fireplace while sipping a glass of red and taking in one of the second-to-none East Dallas sunsets?

This home is also equipped with guest quarters above the garage that has a full kitchen, living area, and a separate bedroom. It literally has everything. In fact, the only question we have after looking through this gorgeous gallery of photos is whether or not we can request to purchase the home furnished? #swoon.
