Dr. Judith Kirby has been practicing ophthalmology for more than 20 years. Her interests include general ophthalmology, especially cataract surgery, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration management. She often says that even after two decades in the field of ophthalmology, she can’t imagine spending her days doing anything more rewarding than caring for her patients’ eyes. “Vision is one of the greatest gifts a person could give. Ophthalmology is so much more than simply doing an eye exam. It is about restoring a person’s quality of life and, in some cases, even saving it,” she says.

Dr. Kirby routinely sees and treats a wide range of complex eye conditions and specializes in performing complicated surgical procedures. She offers intravitreal treatments of antiVEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) for macular degeneration and diabetes, along with the latest lens implant choices for cataract surgery. Her office has state-of-the-art, top-of-the-line equipment to better serve her patients’ needs. She has continued to maintain her board certification, which requires extensive re-examination and re-credentialing by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Her thorough, no-compromise approach to complete eye care has led to the detection of disease in other areas of the body, such as carotid artery disease, multiple sclerosis, melanoma, and brain tumors. “Communication with patients’ primary care doctors, endocrinologists, and neurologists is a crucial part of my role in helping patients achieve not just optimal eye health, but overall health,” she says.

Dr. Kirby prides herself on a very patient-oriented approach to her practice, giving a great deal of personal attention to each and every patient. Spending significant time with patients to ensure they fully understand their diagnosis and options is a hallmark of her practice. Her passion and practice mission is to maintain and protect your vision for a lifetime.
