Dr. Sarah Boostrom founded Colon and Rectal Surgical Consultants of North Texas and then joined Baylor Scott & White in 2013. She and her team offer comprehensive, compassionate, and multidisciplinary care to patients. Dr. Boostrom is dedicated to using advanced technologies in the diagnosis, management, and treatment of colorectal disorders and disease and is experienced in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including laparoscopy and robotics.
Dr. Boostrom is board certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery and the American Board of General Surgery. She earned her M.D. from the University of Texas Health Science Center before completing her residency in general surgery at the Mayo Clinic. She then completed her fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the Mayo Clinic and subsequently stayed on as faculty before moving to Texas. Dr. Boostrom is the recipient of the Kaare K. Nygaard Excellence in Clinical Research Award as well as the Mayo Brothers Distinguished Fellow Award. She is a member of many prestigious surgical societies, has authored multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters, and has presented nationally.
