Throughout his career, Dr. John Tan has been committed to providing quality cardiovascular care guided by the latest advancements in medical knowledge, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies and distinguished by compassion. As managing physician of North Texas Heart Center, he helped build a practice that provides individualized care for all aspects of cardiovascular disease supported by a team approach. His success in caring for patients relies on the expertise of his physician partners who collectively have advanced training and board certification in interventional/structural cardiology, electrophysiology, advanced heart failure/cardiac transplantation, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and peripheral arterial interventions. Dr. Tan completed an M.D., Ph.D. degree program at Stanford University and his residency at Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He returned to Stanford for his fellowship in cardiovascular medicine. He and his wife, Dr. Khanh Hoang, a Harvard/Stanford-trained cardiologist with North Texas Heart Center, moved to Dallas in 1999. He has developed a passion for the American Quarter Horse and has proudly bred six world champions.
