In March, a Carolina Herrera boutique, one of only three in the country, opened in Highland Park Village. Around the same time, Carolina Herrera Baez (also known as Carolina Jr.), coincidentally made her second trip to Dallas for Fashion at the Park at NorthPark Center. The daughter of the famed designer is the spokesperson and muse for Herrera’s secondary line, CH, as well as the head of the company’s fragrance division. (The latter prompted her first visit to Dallas, 10 years ago, for the launch of the CH’s fragrance, 212.) The mother of two has a lot on her plate, including being the face of the Carolina Herrera ad campaign. The Spanish beauty found a moment to share a few thoughts with us. On Dallas women: “From what I know they are well put together, fashionable, and groomed. They like to get dressed and ready-up.” On Carolina Herrera’s standing in the Dallas shopping scene: “My mother’s always been very popular in Dallas. She has lots of friends here. CH’s success is natural. It’s classic, feminine; glam clothes are a good fit here.” On what every woman needs in her wardrobe: “A great pair of jeans, good sweaters in winter, easy dresses for summer, long and mini, and a good pair of heels to dress anything up.”
