By all accounts, March 6 through 10 is an important time for Dallas fashion. NorthPark Center and Victory Park will bring us runway shows, fetes, super models, top designers. If we’re not the new Paris, we’re at least Southwestern New York. Herewith, what to expect from Dallas Fashion Week.
“Fashion at the Park” runs March 7 through 10 at NorthPark Center, in a 15,000-square-foot tent between Nordstrom and Macy’s. Sixteen luxury retailers and boutiques—Barneys New York, Neiman’s, and Oscar de la Renta among them—will show off their lines during numerous runway shows. Tickets for the extravaganza start at $25 and go to $1,500 (the so-called “Uber Fashion Pass”). At the high-dollar amount, you’ll get front-row seats to the shows, VIP status at all the parties, and $250 in NorthPark gold coins. Remember that the runway shows are from the current season—in other words, the clothes that are already on the racks.
For clothes that aren’t on the rack, head to Victory Park. On March 6, it teams with IMG, the international media and entertainment group, to bring Dallas “FashionWeekLive.” This event is basically New York fashion week’s traveling show. Dallas was among four cities chosen for the event. Tickets start at $500, but $1,200 will get you front-row seats and after-party access—but the lines you’ll see at the runway show you won’t see in stores until fall. Plus, Naomi Campbell will be modeling them. So this is your chance to play Anna Wintour. Or, even, me.
