This Carrollton pizza parlor pakes pies worth the drive.

We had a friend in Carrollton who couldn’t wait to tell us about Paparazzi Pizza, his neighborhood pizza joint, a place, he declared, that was worth the drive from our 214 confines. If you don’t know to look for it, you might drive by the tiny storefront in a strip shopping center. But inside is sweet Greek owner George Kadado, making pies and a handful of Mediterranean specialties that are always served (by George himself) with a smile.

Crust is thin, but not overly so, greased up with olive oil and appropriately browned. Choose from traditional pizzas—including a House Supreme with Italian sausage, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, ham, beef, and red onions—or fancier stuff, such at the Mediterraneo, with seasoned gyro meat, red onion, tomato, feta cheese, and kalamata olives, lightly dusted with tarragon. Delish.

Hummus, baba ghanoush and dolmas are among the Mediterranean offerings, as is a simple Greek salad or gyro. The meatball sub or spaghetti and meatballs looked like good bets, especially as an affordable lunch special at less than $7. Carrollton, here we come.
