The Look for Less

Barneys New York Outlet. We were sad when Barneys jumped ship at NorthPark Center a few years ago, but now it’s back and better than ever—as an outlet. Barneys’ black, white, and pinstriped private-label suits abound for less than $200. Those Balenciaga fringe bags that you obsessed over last season are here for a mere $300—more than half off the regular price. We also spotted luxurious cashmere sleeveless sweaters in lime, coral, cream, and chocolate for $50; Cynthia Rowley sunglasses for a 20 spot; and boot-cut Earl jeans for 50 bucks. Barneys also carries an outstanding line of private-label bags with buckles and silver zippers that evoke Marc Jacobs. Mon-Sat, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; Sun, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Allen Premium Outlets, 820 W. Stacy Rd. 972-678-2100. www.premiumoutlets.com/allen.

Last Call from Neiman Marcus. Expect nothing but the best from NM. Remember Prada’s navy and gold brocade shells from spring 2002? Last Call has one (or two) with your name on it. Or get your hands on a Donna Karan gold sequin tube top and gorgeous silver silk chiffon sleeveless beaded tops by Stella McCartney that pair perfectly with jeans for a downtown evening look. In the shoe department, we spotted a pair of John Galliano floral embroidered pink satin heels with velvet ribbon lace-up straps that wrap around your calves. For the men, our favorite pick was a Prada blazer in a brown and navy flower motif. It’ll set you back $300, but you’ll look like a million bucks. Mon-Sat, 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m.; Sun, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Grapevine Mills Outlet, 3000 Grapevine Mills Pkwy., Ste. 233. Grapevine. 214-513-1527. www.grapevinemills.com.

Loehmann’s. Whether you’re looking for a handbag or a pair of shoes, Loehmann’s is a great place to buy accessories. Our favorite find was an oversized pair of Chloe sunglasses that were oh-so Jackie O. Alongside the sunglasses lay classic Fendi logo baguettes and mama baguettes and Calvin Klein exotic skin evening bags in fab fall colors such as eggplant—perfect for a night at the Dallas Symphony or an art opening in Uptown. In the back of the store is a shoe wall that can be pretty hit and miss. But on this occasion, we hit with a pair of white, open-toed, snakeskin heels by Sergio Rossi. Mon-Fri, 10 a.m.-9 p.m; Sat, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sun, noon-6 p.m. 11411 Northwest Hwy., Ste. 127. 214-349-7213. www.loehmanns.com.

Off 5th Saks Fifth Avenue Outlet. Shop for your kids and they’ll forever be dressed better than you in RL hot pink knit sweaters and lemon yellow terry-cloth hoodies for only $40. Or pick up some gingham onesies and ruffle-detail dresses with matching bloom-ers for just $15 to $40. Now let’s get to what’s important: you. The day we arrived, they had just received a huge shipment of Prada bags, all 50 percent off the original price. We scored a pristine pair of fire-engine red heavy linen Christian Dior trousers for less than $200. Michael Kors separates included cable-knit sleeveless sweaters and safari-esque jackets. Travel in style with Anne Klein luggage sets, and keep your schedule running smoothly with Kate Spade personal organizers in pink and blue floral prints. For the accessories junky in all of us, Off 5th carries a substantial selection of TechnoMarine watches, Stephen Dweck chunky semi-precious bracelets and earrings, and John Hardy diamond and gold brooches. Mon-Sat, 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m.; Sun, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Grapevine Mills Outlet, 3000 Grapevine Mills Pkwy., Ste. 211. Grapevine. 972-724-3500. www.grapevinemills.com.
