Dallas Look: Neutral Ground

This winter, trade in your black frocks and baubles for neutral tones.
|

This season, find your way to beige, white, and brown.

CONGRATULATIONS,
LADIES. YOU SURVIVED the holidays. The kids are back in school. The
parents are four states away. It’s time to start working on those New
Year’s resolutions, such as being perfectly put together 24/7. We know
you’re tired, so we’re giving you some tips on how to pull off that
fresh, it’s-a-new-year look. Number one: invest in some white wool
pants. The color of summer may seem like an odd choice for January, but
pairing white trousers with deep chocolate browns and warm beiges is a
hot combination. Your friends will finally acknowledge your genius.
Number two: keep things simple. Limit accessories to a classic watch
and snuggly hats and scarves. Super-long, floor-skimming scarves
protect exposed necklines from the chilly winter breeze, and they’re a
cinch to find—every store carries them. Number three: add one funky
piece. We found an animal-print handbag to offset the rest of this
ensemble. A perfectly matched outfit is too predictable. An unexpected
touch is like the whipped cream on your cocoa. Number four: check this
New Year’s resolution off your list.
