Show off those gams you’ve worked so hard to get with fashion’s look du jour: the miniskirt. PLUS: must-have handbags for any end-of-summer occasion.
|

SHORT ORDER

Don’t be bashful. Show off those legs with a miniskirt.

YOU’VE WORKED AND SWEATED YOUR way to a perfect pair of gams, so why are you hiding them? It’s time to show them off with this summer’s must-have: the miniskirt. The trick is to focus attention on one body part at a time. Pair a short skirt with a blazer, and you’ve got the perfect August office look, assuming you work in a cool place. If the boys in accounting can’t handle the heat, though, you need a skirt that hits the top of your knee and a pair of heels that don’t go above 2 inches. When the 5 o’clock whistle blows and you’re ready for a casual evening with friends, trade in your heels for a pair of flat sandals, put the blazer in the closet, and throw on a tank top instead. The only accessories you’ll need are a pair of dangly earrings or a necklace—but not both. Fabrics this summer are neon-bright, so you won’t need anything more. Go for shades of tangerine orange, lime green, and other citrus-punch colors that pop. Once you go out and about, your legs won’t be the only thing catching everyone’s eyes.

DEANNA IS WEARING: orange graphic skirt ($69), orange racer tank ($19), and white mesh racer tank ($25), all from Club Monaco/Dallas Galleria, NorthPark Center. Tyler shoes ($295) and leather bag ($219), available at Sebastian’s. Bonnie Basham necklace ($450), available at www.bonniebasham.com. Model’s own jacket.

SKIN IS IN
We love our Crème de la Mer. The thought of giving it up never crossed our minds. But we recently received a jar of Altero, a new anti-wrinkle, anti-aging treatment, and now our mantra is, “Crème de la Who?” Dr. Stephen Mandy, the ex-prez of the American Society of Dermatological Surgery, along with beauty company Genome Cosmetique, created this fantastic beauty broth with all the research developments from the Human Genome Project. The end result: a creamy, non-greasy goo that, when applied to your pretty little face, reduces free radicals (read: all the bad stuff that does horrible things to skin) by 95 percent. Get ready to say buh-bye, Botox!
