What is the best way to get rid of body fat that exercise doesn’t seem to eliminate?

A surgical procedure known as “tumescent liposuction”removes fat cells from the body. It was designed especially lor those individuals who have localized fat deposits and have tried unsuccessfully to eliminate them through diet, weight loss and exercise. Tumescent liposuction allows the surgeon to inject a mixture of saltwater, local anesthesia and adrenaline into the targeted areas before the fatty deposits are removed. The procedure can be performed under local or twilight anesthesia. Minimal bruising and swelling occur with this technique.

Areas most commonly contoured include saddlebags, hips, buttocks, love handles, abdomen, thighs, knees, calves, ankles, arms, male breast and neck. Both men and women can benefit from this procedure.

What new developments are there for patients who have had problems wearing contacts previously, especially those with astigmatism?

In my practice, we are very excited to be able to offer dis* posable contacts for patients with astigmatism. We have great success in fitting almost: any prescription with the lenses now available. For patients who want the ultimate in convenience and comfort, we carry disposable contacts that are discarded each day at very affordable prices.

Our contact lens patients who wear bifocals will be pleased to know we are expecting disposable bifocal contacts in the very near future.

What is microdermabrasion and is it safe?

Used in Europe for almost ten years and recently approved by die FDA in the United States, microdermabrasion is a safe alternative to chemical and laser peeling. The process removes dead and damaged skin cells by vacuuming a jet stream of fine crystal across the skin.

The skin’s texture is immediately improved. It’s softer and smoother with a youthful glow. One treatment is three times as powerful as a glycolic acid peel yet it is so gentle that it can be used on eyelids. A series of sessions can eliminate fine lines and wrinkles, brown spots, liver spots, acne, stretch marks, dilated capillaries and often scars.

Microdermabrasion regenerates the epidermal cell structure which results in an increase of up to 30% in skin’s elasticity and creates more beautiful skin.

At what age should I consider a facelift?

Most people will need a facelift between the ages of 45 and 55. Although heredity plays a large roll in the aging process, it can be done sooner for some, later for others. A facelift won’t keep you from aging, it only tightens those muscles that have loosened, and it won’t stop aging, it will only hold back the hands of time. In most cases, the longer you wail, the less that can be expected. Most of us see age creeping forward in the eye area before noticing any real slackening of the facial muscles. Our eyes seem to show that tired, saggy, dark-circled, hallow look before we notice anything else, Simple blepharoplasty (upper and lower eyelid surgery) can make us look youthful again before a full facelift is really needed.
