THE WISDOM OF JERRY JONES

|

“The suburban areas of this country are the most viable of any area and the downtown areas have to suck from them to stay alive.” So pronounced Cowboys owner Jerry Jones at an Irving City Council finance meeting

in June.

Oh yeah, Jerry? How many Texas ^BJ Stadium suites are owned or leased by downtown companies?

“We don’t release that informa-tion,” says Cowboys spokesman Donna Sullivan.

For the record, downtown Dallas provides 16 percent of the total tax revenues collected by Dallas County. Irving antes up just 9.97 percent.

And Irving seems to know it The suburb rejected Jones’ attempt to derail the DART plan by a land-Ik slide vote of 57 to 43.
