PHONE SERVICE

Dallas and Fort Worth are served by two area codes, 214 and 817. Many area businesses have “metro” numbers that can be accessed by either area code without a long distance charge. However, you still have to dial the area code (but not 1). The Texas Public Utilities Commission is now debating whether two additional area codes will be enouph for the Dallas Fort Worth area.
