…that NationsBank, which recently threatened to move out of downtown, may have saved a few dollars in a lease negotiation at the cost of reviving Dallas’ worst fears about outside ownership of our financial institutions. We’re told that NB quickly back-pedaled after some downtown businesses threatened to cut off the bank’s daily float.

…that city councilman AI Lipscomb bas been demanding free parking at the Hyatt Regency, recalling the early ’80s when several city council members thought it was their divine right to get into concerts free.

…that Channel 4’s Fox News is having its share of problems, including the antics of new morning news anchor Ashleigh Banfield. Seems the Canadian had a long wait for her immigration papers, so her start time was delayed. Then she borrowed news director David Goldberg’s BMW-and wrecked it.

…that former Miss U.S.A. Courtney Gibbs is back on home turf. The Fort Worth gal’s marriage to “Another World ” star Tom Eplin is over, and she’s bunking down in a remodeled bunkhouse. Still listed with Kim Dawson Modeling Agency in Dallas-in addition to her work for New York’s Wilhemina Modeling Agency-she’s staying busy.
