He calmly, consistently, and firmly urged others to do the same, even in the face of criticism. In his 37 years as pastor of the Peoples Missionary Baptist Church, inhisrole as president of the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America, and as chairman of the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance, he served as a bridge between those who needed to be brought together. He’ll he missed on Pine Street, and he’ll he missed on Main Street.
