We’re ’Crazy for You’

Dear Members:

I am happy to announce that on May 13. Channel 13 and KERA 90.1 will be the beneficiaries of the Opening Night Celebration and Performance of producer Roger Horchow’s Tony Award-winning Broadway musical CRAZY FOR YOUs\ the Music Hall at Fair Park in Dallas.

KERA supporter Brooke Stollenwerck is chairing the festivities with co-chairs Jane Dunne, Linda McElroy Gibbons and Terry Van Willson, and they have done a wonderful job planning quite an evening for everyone. The Opening Night Celebration will begin with a light supper for benefit patrons and continue with the Opening Night performance of CRAZY FOR YOU. Following the perrormance, patrons will enjoy a private party that offers the only opportunity during the musical’s Dallas run for theatergoers to dine and dance with the entire CRAZY FOR YOU cast, company and award-winning creative team, as well as investors, the Gershwin family, the Horchow family and their guests, and local and national press.

Individual patron tickets for this important KERA benefit are available for $250 per person, and include priority seating for the Opening Night performance, reserved seating at the pre-performance supper and at the party following the performance, and valet parking Patron tickets thai do not include the pre-performance supper are available at $150.

In addition to individual tickets, patron tables are offered at various contribution levels and include a wide range of very special benefits. Tickets for the performance only are available at prices ranging from $15 to $75.

CRAZY FOR YOU, which opened to rave reviews on Broadway last February, is an all-Gershwin production that won every major prize in 1992 for best musical, including the Tony Award, Drama Desk Awa^d and Outer Critics Circle Award, The lavish production also picked up Tony Awards for best choreography and best costumes. Producer Horchow, a long-lime champion of public television and radio in North Texas, is the founder and chairman of the Friends of 90.1. Both Roger and Carolyn Horchow also serve on KERA’s community advisory board.

For tickets or more information about the KERA benefit Opening Night Celebration and Performance of CRAZY FOR YOU, please call KERA at 740-9290. This promises to be an enjoyable and memorable evening, and I hope to see you there.

To those of you who joined Channel 13 or renewed your memberships during last month’s pledge drive, I want to say thanks on behalf of all of us here at KERA. Members make the difference in everything we do, and we are grateful for your support and your voie of confidence.

Best wishes,
