THUMBS DOWN to local Democratic congressmen Pete Geren, Ralph Hall and Chet Edwards and to Republicans Sam Johnson and Dick Armey for their vote against the recently vetoed family leave bill which would allow employees up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave to care for a newborn or a seriously ill family member. Workers shouldn’t be forced to choose between jobs and loved ones.
